McGregor, Minn Jan 21st, 1941
Mrs. Clausen was married to Fred Clausen age 53.
Mrs. Clausen was carrying on an affair
with a 30yr old Tony Jordon. The day before the shooting
Mrs. Clausen and Tony Jordon went to Aitkin. The two
stayed over night at a Aitkin Hotel. Registering under
false names. C.B. & Wife. When they returned
to McGregor, Fred Clausen & Tony Jordon exchanged
words. There was a scuffle and Mr. Clausen was
knocked to the floor. When Tony Jordon shot him
at close range. The bullet shattered his collar bone.
Tony Jordon ran and Mr. Clausen caught up to
Tony Jordon, Jordon shot at him 3 more times. All
bullets missed Mr. Clausen. Tony Jordon starts off after
Dan Lozway. Dan Lozway was the one who had seen
Tony Jordon and Mrs. Clausen in Aitkin and was the one who
informed Mr. Clausen. Dan Lozway managed to evade
Tony Jordon.
Sheriff Newstrom telephoned Joe Hudson to assist
him in the capture of Tony Jordon. Joe Hudson formed a posse.
Tony Jordon had retrieved to the woods and headed
East on the railroad tracks out of town. The posse caught up to
Tony Jordon. Joe Hudson ordered him stop many times.
Tony told Joe "Go to Hell!" and continued running. Joe Hudson
shot in the air but Tony Jordon did not stop.
Joe Hudson shot Tony Jordon in the back with a 30-30
Winchester. Tony Jordon died 15min later. Fred Clausen
recovered from his shattered collar bone. He divorced
Mrs. Clausen and got custody of the children (7) and
left McGregor. Joe Hudson was known as a women's
man and could really handle a six shooter. Joe Hudson
was a father of several Illegitimate children near McGregor.
Joe Hudson had children from his first wife followed by
her death.
